SHAPER SESSIONS A BENEFIT FOR SURF AID in Collaboration of our Shaper Jacket

Shaper Presents “Shaper Sessions” An Evening of Live Shaping and Live Music benefitting SurfAid

San Diego, CA (September 18, 2017) – Shaper Studios, the world’s first public surfboard workshop, will kick off a new event series named “Shaper Sessions” on September 30th, 2017 at our San Diego Flagship located in the neighborhood of North Park. This is a night for the entire surf community and surf enthusiasts to come out and watch live surfboard shaping by 3 of the world’s most talented shapers while enjoying live surf music and local craft beer.

Attendees will have the opportunity to bid on the 3 boards being shaped through a silent auction where all proceeds will benefit SurfAid, a nonSprofit that helps to improve the health and wellbeing of people living in isolated regions around the world. Each winner will get the chance to customize their new surfboard with the Shaper Studios team. Chris Clark, founder of Shaper Studios, started this event to celebrate master surfboard shapers, local breweries and musicians in our community. “Our company exists to celebrate the art, the history and the tradition of surfing,” said Clark. “We chose to launch this event series during the SurfAid September because it gives us an opportunity to use the art of surfboard shaping as a means to save lives through the incredible humanitarian work of SurfAid.” This is a free event and it is open to the public. -5:00 pm Doors Open to the Public

-5:30 pm Shaper Introductions – The 3 master shapers invited will include Roger Hinds, Chris Christenson, and Matt Calvani. Each shaper will have a chance to describe the type of board they will be shaping and the inspiration behind the shape.

- 6:00 pm Live Shaping – Each shaper will begin creating a new custom

shape. Everyone in attendance will get a chance to view the shaping live and

bid on each board through a silent auction.

-6:00 J 8:30 pm Live Music – Two of San Diego’s most talented surf inspired bands, The Millionaire Beach Bums and the Twin Fins, will be playing live on the Shaper Stage.
